On World Humanitarian Day 2026, the Watchful Association for Relief and Development (WARD) joins humanitarian organizations and communities around the world in recognizing the people at the heart of humanitarian action.
Under this year’s theme, #ActForHumanity, WARD reaffirms its commitment to supporting vulnerable and crisis-affected communities across Somalia through humanitarian assistance, community engagement, resilience-building, and locally led action.
Somalia continues to face complex humanitarian challenges, including climate-related shocks, displacement, food insecurity, water shortages, and limited access to essential services. These challenges affect families and communities in different ways and require coordinated, inclusive, and people-centered responses.

For WARD, humanitarian action is about more than delivering assistance. It is about protecting dignity, strengthening resilience, listening to communities, and supporting people to build a safer and more sustainable future.
